GROWING IN OUR LOVE FOR GOD, FOR WHO HE IS:
SCRIPTURES: Deut 30:19-20a I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 20a That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days…”
Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Matt 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
THOUGHT: God has powerfully declared His Love for us in that He first created us and when the human race rebelled of His authority, He made a way for redemption by Jesus Christ and thereby reuniting us with Him. All of this was because of His love.
QUESTIONS: Have I surrendered to the love of God? I what ways may I be spurning God’s love? Since God has so loved me, how can I better show God’s love to my community and my nation?
ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES: 1 John 4:7-13 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.
