JEHOVAH EL AB – THE LORD GOD IS YOUR FATHER

SCRIPTURES: ISAIAH 64:8 But now, O LORD, THOU ART OUR FATHER; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.   EPHESIANS 4:5-6 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.  JOHN 14:6-7 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye should have known MY FATHER also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

THOUGHT: In both the Old and New Testaments there are references to the FATHERHOOD OF GOD [ISAIAH 64:8; EPHESIANS 4:5-6]. In the Old Testament the people’s approach to GOD was generally distant and remote, even telling Moses at one point that they did not want direct contact with Him [EXODUS 20:19]. In the New Testament, Jesus showed us the LORD not only as our GOD, but also as our faithful and loving HEAVENLY FATHER. He said: “He that hath seen me hath seen THE FATHER[JOHN 14:9]. We are taught to draw near to Him in love and faith just as a child to a loving earthly father.
HEBREWS 10:22-23 Let us DRAW NEAR with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

PRAYER: Dear HEAVENLY FATHER: You are the ultimate expression of the fatherhood that You required of our natural earthly fathers and of me as a parent and/or guardian of loved ones. Help me that I do not look to the faults of those authority figures as an excuse for my own faults. Help me also in my roles and responsibilities that I may truly learn more about You so that I may emulate Your FATHERHOOD that I may represent You as You intended. Please help me to be delivered from evil word curses and soul ties of authority figures so that I may truly reflect Your glory in my relationships, In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES ON THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD: ISAIAH 63:16 DOUBTLESS THOU ART OUR FATHER, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: THOU, O LORD, ART OUR FATHER, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

ROMANS 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even THE FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

1 CORINTHIANS 8:6 But to us there is but one God, THE FATHER, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:3 Blessed be God, even THE FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, the FATHER OF MERCIES, and the God of all comfort;

EPHESIANS 1:3 Blessed be the God and FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

EPHESIANS 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, THE FATHER OF GLORY, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

EPHESIANS 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto THE FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST…

JAMES 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from THE FATHER OF LIGHTS, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
