IMMANUEL – GOD IS WITH US

SCRIPTURES: Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name IMMANUEL. Matthew 1:22–23 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name EMMANUEL, which being interpreted is, GOD WITH US

THOUGHTS: The original use of the word IMMANUEL was a sign that God would protect the House of David. The Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 1:22–23) interprets this as a prophecy of the birth of the long awaited Messiah and the fulfillment of Scripture in the person of Jesus Christ. You may interpret this Name of Jesus Christ as a prophecy and a promise that God is with you. As you contemplate the blessings of this season remember that it is all about God being right here, at this very moment, with you.

PRAYERS: Dear Heavenly Father and IMMANUEL: Your presence is reverence to me especially in the knowing that You are here with me at this very moment and every moment of my days. Help me to remember that You are with me, even during the times of trials or troubles. Thank You for Your presence. AMEN.

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
