JEHOVAH EL SALI – LORD GOD MY ROCK

SCRIPTURES: 2 Samuel 22:47 The LORD [JEHOVAH] liveth; and blessed be  MY ROCK [SALI]; and exalted be THE GOD OF THE ROCK [EL SALI] of my salvation. Psalms 95:1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD [JEHOVAH]: let us make a joyful noise TO THE ROCK [SALI] of our salvation. Psalms 89:26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, MY GOD, AND THE ROCK [EL SALI] of my salvation.

THOUGHT: In 2 Samuel chapter 22, the Bible says that David sang a song on the day that the LORD [JEHOVAH] had delivered him from all of his enemies. David speaks of the many times that he was in trouble, cried out unto the LORD and was delivered. He speaks of encountering enemies that were too strong for him, but that God delivered him. He intimates that he is delivered because of his righteous relationship with God, i.e. his living by God’s righteous ways rather than the world’s ways. He gives thanks and praise to God and exalts the LORD GOD as the ROCK of his salvation.

ROCK [SALI] means a cliff or rugged rock and so therefore depicts stability and solid strength. This name for God [JEHOVAH EL SALI] is also sometimes called LORD GOD OF MY STRENGTH. I encourage that you read the entire chapter of 2 Samuel 22 to see how David recounts his troubles and gives glory to God for deliverance. You also may receive salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God and live a righteous and godly life by the help and strength that He gives by His Spirit. Then, like David you call on Him, the LORD GOD YOUR ROCK – [JEHOVAH EL SALI] and watch as He delivers you from the attacks of your enemies.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, JEHOVAH EL SALI – THE LORD MY ROCK: You only are MY ROCK [SALI] and my salvation: You are my defence; I shall not be moved. In You, GOD [EL] is my salvation and my glory: THE ROCK [SALI] of my strength, and my refuge, is in GOD [EL]. LORD, By Your Son, JESUS CHRIST and by Your HOLY SPIRIT, You live and reign and inhabit my life, dwelling in me and filling me with Your righteousness. Blessed be my ROCK [SALI], and exalted be THE GOD OF THE ROCK [EL SALI] of my salvation. (See Psalms 62:6-7 & 2 Samuel 22:47).

ADDITIONAL READING: 2 Samuel 22:7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and He did hear my voice out of His temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. Psalms 18:46 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted. Psalms 62:2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
