SCRIPTURES: Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower [JEHOVAH MIGDAL OZ]: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Psalms 61:1-3 (To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David.) Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower [MIGDAL OZ] from the enemy.
THOUGHT: MIGDAL refers to any kind of tower. Towers were constructed for many reasons, such as watchtowers for defense from war or from raiders, for oversight and defense of crops, as well as for storage. A tower was a symbol for strength, for defense, for safety and for security. OZ, the word for strength and power, is used to convey internal fortitude and strength. It is used of the strength and might of God [Job 12:16; Isaiah 49:5], of His deliverance for His people [Isaiah 62:8], of the prideful power a rebellious people [Leviticus 26:19], of the strength and power that God gives to His leaders [1 Samuel 2:10] and to His people [Psalms 68:35].THE LORD HIMSELF IS YOUR STRONG TOWER. You must learn to run to straight to Him in times of difficulty, misunderstanding, insecurity, doubt or fear. A tower is storage, protection, safety and security. It is also a place from which you can see danger coming from far off. Therefore you must live in GOD as YOUR STRONG TOWER and when you go into YOUR STRONG TOWER you are safe [Proverbs 18:10].
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father and JEHOVAH MIGDAL OZ – MY LORD AND STRONG TOWER: You are “…my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower” [Psalms 18:2]. I trust in Your strength and power to defend the causes that relate to my life. It is my purpose to run to You as I would to a STRONG TOWER and to live in You to find peace, safety and security no matter what storms may be brewing in or around my life. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
