THE LORD GOD THE MAJESTIC ONE

SCRIPTURE: PSALMS 8:9 O LORD our Lord, how EXCELLENT (MAJESTIC) is thy name in all the earth! 1 CHRONICLES 29:11 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and THE MAJESTY: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

THOUGHT: There are several Hebrew words translated as MAJESTY or MAJESTIC in the Bible and sometimes these words are also translated as EXCELLENT, LOFTY, MIGHTY or GREAT, etc., depending on the context. MAJESTY points out the royalty of rulers, or the strength, value, and beauty of people and/or objects. When you consider the heavens, the landscape of a plain, or mountain range, or the breadth and depth of the sea you are contemplating the MAJESTY of God’s creation, including its extensiveness, greatness, beauty, value, etc. MAJESTY includes all of this and THE LORD GOD IS THE MAJESTIC ONE who placed MAJESTY in the earth. When you use MAJESTY in referring to God you are considering His power, wisdom, presence, creative ability, how much He means to you and much, much more. THE LORD GOD, YOUR GOD, IS THE MAJESTIC ONE.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father and LORD GOD OF MAJESTY: Words do not adequately describe the greatness or the beauty of Your MAJESTY. Thinking of the heavens, the earth and the sea and all their functions gives me only a clue to the magnificence of Your MAJESTY, since You created all these things. You alone are worthy of all my praise and honor. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
