JEHOVAH EL AREK APH – THE LORD YOUR GOD IS SLOW TO ANGER

SCRIPTURES: PSALMS 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious,  SLOW TO ANGER [JEHOVAH AREK APH], and plenteous in mercy. EXODUS 34:6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, LONGSUFFERING [JEHOVAH EL AREK APH], and abundant in goodness and truth…

THOUGHTS: SLOW TO ANGER means exactly the same as Longsuffering or Patient. The idea is that God does not judge you after every wrong deed that you do, but that He gives you time and opportunities to learn to follow Him and live for Him. Many of the stories in the Bible show you that God is Longsuffering, Slow to Anger or Patient with all those whom He dealt with. But Slow to Anger does not mean that there will never be punishment. It means that God would much rather you repent that be punished. Therefore He made a way by the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. Knowing the Love, Mercy, Grace and Patience of God it behooves you to take His offer of Salvation through Jesus Christ by Repenting of your sin and asking Him to turn your life into a blessing and praise to His Name.

Dear Heavenly Father and MY LORD GOD OF PATIENCE: I thank You that You are SLOW TO ANGER with me and have given me so many opportunities. Today I see Your Love, Mercy and Grace and I ask for Your help through Jesus Christ to completely turn my life around to obedience to You. Also help me to be Loving, Compassionate and Slow to Anger with those that I deal with. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES: NUMBERS 14:18 THE LORD IS LONGSUFFERING [JEHOVAH AREK APH], and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

PSALMS 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, LONGSUFFERING [AREK APH], and plenteous in mercy and truth.

JOEL 2:12-13 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, SLOW TO ANGER [AREK APH], and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

NAHUM 1:3 THE LORD IS SLOW TO ANGER [AREK APH], and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked : the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

JONAH 4:2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, SLOW TO ANGER [AREK APH], and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
