SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:4a ”And God saw the light, that it was good…” Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalms 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
THOUGHTS: The revelation that God is all good all of the time and that He always has good plans for each one of us is the essence of the teachings of the Word of God. This is known as the OMNI-BENEVOLENCE OF GOD. Omnibenevolence is defined by dictionaries as “unlimited or infinite benevolence”. This is a compound word consisting of: OMNI = ALL ENCOMPASSING, BENE = GOOD, and VOLENCE = WILL. This means that God always operates from a perspective of His GOOD-WILL towards you. This teaching is populated throughout the Scripture, many times expressly stated and at other times demonstrated by God’s acts and responses to man’s deeds. Everything that God made in creation was good (Genesis 1:1-31). When man rebelled in sin God responded with a solution by having mercy, forgiving our sin and sending His Son to pay the price of our redemption. It only takes a shift in perspective and attitude to realize that God is all good and has no plan but for your good. He also requires that you acknowledge His ways and be GOOD to others.
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father and OMNI-BENEVOLENT GOD: You have been GOOD to me and my family and I thank You. Thank You for Your love for me in sending Your Son, Jesus Christ. I desire to obey and be like You in being good to all those that I come into contact with in my daily walk. I ask for Your help, in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
