JEHOVAH EL HASHAMAYIM: LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS:

SCRIPTURES: Jonah 1:9 And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, GOD OF HEAVEN [JEHOVAH EL HASHAMAYIM], which hath made the sea and the dry land. Psalms 136:26 O give thanks unto the GOD OF HEAVEN [EL HASHAMAYIM]: for his mercy endureth for ever. Nehemiah 1:4-5 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the GOD OF HEAVEN [EL HASHAMAYIM], 5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD GOD OF HEAVEN [JEHOVAH EL HASHAMAYIM], the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:

THOUGHT: It is thought that the Israelites used the name JEHOVAH EL HASHAMAYIM: LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS to show the superiority and sovereignty of Jehovah. The pagans worshipped many gods along with one named Baal, who they called ‘god of the sky’. In contrast, the Israelites called the One True God, LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS and therefore above the sky and even above all pagan gods. There was a show-down at Mount Carmel between the LORD God and Baal (1 Kings 18). It was a display of the superior and sovereign power of the LORD God versus Baal, where He rained down fire from heaven, which the worshippers of Baal could not do. I earnestly encourage you to read that story. As God of the Heavens, Jehovah sees all that exists and that happens on the earth and in the universe. Recognize today, that JEHOVAH EL HASHAMAYIM: LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS knows about a cares about each and every concern of yours. Turn to Him in prayer and watch the LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS work in the affairs of this earth concerning you.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, JEHOVAH EL HASHAMAYIM – LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS: Along with Jonah I confess that “…I fear the LORD, GOD OF HEAVEN [JEHOVAH EL HASHAMAYIM], which hath made the sea and the dry land” (Jonah 1:9). Also, I say with the Psalmist, “O give thanks unto the GOD OF HEAVEN [EL HASHAMAYIM]: for his mercy endureth for ever” (Psalm 136:26).

I am glad that You that You are superior above all and sovereign over all because You are a good and holy God. I thank you that You see all of the affairs of my life and that You are concerned about the things that concern me. LORD GOD OF THE HEAVENS, I give my concerns to You, In Jesus Name, AMEN!

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
