SCRIPTURES: Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Leviticus 20:7-8 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. 8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which Sanctify you. Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth Sanctify you.
THOUGHT: As in Psalm 23, once you accept Salvation through Jesus Christ you put on His Robe of Righteousness and in heaven you are declared Righteous. However, you must keep on living down here on earth. Here is where you walk through this valley of shadows, bringing death to old habits, fleshly pleasures and sinful desires. Sometimes shadows of your past re-emerge and you must be earnest and resolute about putting them to death. It is comforting to know that God is with you in the process of your sanctification.
Jehovah M’Kaddesh is a compound name translated as “the Lord and Master who Sanctifies You“. M’Kaddesh may be also seen written in its long form as Mekoddishkem also meaning set apart and holy, or the process of preparing someone or something so that it is set apart and holy and so that it may be used exclusively for sacred purposes. This name of God describes He who calls you and sets you apart as His child. It is He who prepares you for His holy presence and His holy service when you accept His Sovereignty over your life. He must initiate the process of sanctifying you, because even with the best of intentions you cannot do it on your own. You must come to a place of confidence and trust in God in this area of life and allow Him to orchestrate the events of your life that bring about your Sanctification.
PRAYER: Oh Great God and Father – Jehovah M’Kaddesh, Lord and Master who Sanctifies me: I thank You that I do not walk alone and that You walk with me through the valleys and dark shadows of life, bringing death to my former fleshly and sinful thoughts and behaviors. I realize that it takes the work of the One and Only Holy God to make me holy. According to Leviticus 20:7-8, I set myself apart to holiness because You are my God and You are the One who Sanctifies me, sets me apart and makes me holy. I submit and surrender to You, for You to do the work in me that I cannot do myself. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
