GOD’S REDEMPTIVE NAMES IN Psalm 23

SCRIPTURE: Psalms 23:1-6 (A Psalm of David.) 1. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

THOUGHT: Jesus Christ is your Redeemer and the Lamb slain from before the world began, (See Hebrews 9:26; 1 Peter 1:20; Revelation 13:8). Redemption and Restoration are in the very heart of God. God gave you “freedom of choice”, which means that ultimately, it was always possible that you could make “the wrong choices”. To have made the wrong choices with no way to make it right would mean eternal damnation. God, in His Compassion and Love planned that what was lost could be Redeemed and that the broken could be made whole. The plan involves a redeemer, an innocent person, who offers to pay the price for you and then support you on the journey back to wholeness. Jesus is your Redeemer, and He has already made recompense and has already bought back what was lost. In Psalm 23 you will see a prophetic relationship between the qualities of the Redeemer and some of the Redemptive Names of God.  Let us explore this for the next several days. He is your Shepherd, your Provider, your Healer, your Righteousness, and more.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father: Thank You for Your wisdom in planning for my redemption. I thank You, that Your love for me was on display on the Cross. You have also placed many keys to Redemption right in Your Word. The more I learn of You, and what You have provided, the more I appreciate You, worship You and serve You. As a father has love and compassion for his children, I appreciate the love and compassion that You have for me. I receive Your provision,  and all of the benefits found in Your Names, In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
