The Role of the Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Calls You…

Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

THOUGHT: The Bible teaches us that God calls us and gives us gifts and talents accordingly as He wills. There are gifts of the Father, gifts of the Son, Jesus Christ and gifts of Holy Spirit. We are given gifts and then called to certain roles and responsibilities. Some seek recognition, titles and activities in larger public roles and calls when they have not practised faithfulness to the first call of God, which is the call to submission, surrender, confession, prayer and faithfulness to Him and to those He has placed you with.

The first call is to allow God to sanctify and mature you as a disciple and follower so that you are prepared to properly represent Him in any and every situation He calls you to encounter. Practicing love, forgiveness, humility and serving those in your midst is the preparation ground for further calls to extend your ministry to new and greater realms. God calls us by His Spirit, and we must sit down and count the cost and make appropriate preparations for the next steps.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive Your call, first to commit my ways to you and to allow Holy Spirit to bring my life into conformity to Your will. After my response is pleasing to You, I will also respond to His guidance to do whatever else You call me to do. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
