40 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR OUR NATION – DAY 26 | 10/19/2020

INTERCESSION FOR RESTORATION OF GOD-ORDAINED MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS, FIDELITY AND HARMONY AND HEALING FOR TROUBLED MARRIAGES:

SCRIPTURES: Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

1 Corinthians 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

1 Corinthians 7:10-11 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

THOUGHT: It is clear in God’s Word that He values marriage. He is responsible for creating the first marriage partners, in a very unique and meaningful way (Genesis 2:21-23). He often refers to the sanctity of marriage and its picture of His relationship with us, His people (Ephesians 5:28-32).
As Eve came out of Adam, we too are made in God’s own image.

God calls marriage a one-flesh relationship (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5; Ephesians 5:31). This means that a marriage cannot be ended without a painful tearing away of one from the other. Separation is therefore extremely painful for all involved and must be avoided unless there is a threat such as violence or death.

PRAYER: LORD, we repent for entering too quickly into emotional, physical and marital relationships. We see that marriage is a holy joining of two people into a lasting bond of mutual love, selflessness, forgiveness and respect. We see that just as we have been too quick to marry we have been too quick to divorce. Help us as a nation to see the error of our way. We intercede for You to bring godliness, selflessness, love, restraint, healing, forgiveness, peace and joy back to marriages. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN!

Turn us around LORD, that we as a nation turn back to the source from which we came. Let it be a Sovereign work of Your own hand to turn this nation around and transform it to a work of Your glory. In Jesus’ Name.  AMEN!

ADDITIONAL SCRIPTURES:
Here are some additional Scriptures for counsel and guidance in this area:

Colossians 3:12-15 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Matthew 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
