WORSHIPPING JESUS CHRIST: LORD OF THE SABBATH:
SCRIPTURE: MARK 2:27-28 And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.
THOUGHTS: Sabbath means rest as in ceasing from our labors. Man is not made for rest, but rest is made for man. The goal is to provide rest from our work and to open the door for extended time of reading, study, worship and fellowship. This command is the basis of the employer giving employees a day off.
Do you take advantage of the command to rest found in Exodus 20:8-11, by turning it into opportunities for extra sleep, peaceful relaxation and extended, uninterrupted time with God?
Is this an area that requires further commitment on your part?
PRAYER: LORD, You gave us rest. There remains a rest for the people of God (see Hebrews 4:9). I plan to take advantage of the rest You have given by setting aside time for bodily rest, for study, for prayer, reflection, meditation and worship. I ask for Your help in my endeavors to obey and be blessed by Your commandment. In Jesus name, AMEN!

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox
We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world.
II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
