DAY FIVE: TURNING OUR HEARTS TO GOD
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (ACTS 3: 19)
YOU ARE THE SOURCE OF TIMES OF REFRESHING
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 CORINTHIANS 5: 17)
“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (GALATIANS 4: 3-5)
“To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!” (JUDE 1 : 24-25)
“The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.” (1 JOHN 3: 1-3)
Father of mercies, we confess that we have sinned against You. By Your Holy Spirit, come and work repentance into our hearts. Help us to see Jesus, the friend of sinners, and to follow Him more faithfully.
Gracious Savior, as a nation we have abandoned Your ways. As a Church, we have been timid in proclaiming Your holiness and righteousness. As people, we have worshipped idols because they demanded so little from us. Hear our cries and forgive our sins so that times of refreshing may come, and You may send Jesus.
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (GALATIANS 2:20)
Holy Father, where I am weak, You are strong. Help me to abide in You that I may have faith to live according to the calling You have placed on my life. Jesus, wipe out all my transgressions. Eradicate every thought that is impure. Bind up the broken places in my heart and let Your peace refresh my soul.

• What would “times of refreshing” look like in my family?
