SCRIPTURES: Jeremiah 10:10 But the LORD [JEHOVAH] is the true God, he is THE LIVING GOD [EL KHAYYIM], and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Psalms 42:2 My soul thirsteth for God, for THE LIVING GOD: when shall I come and appear before God? Psalms 42:8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the GOD OF MY LIFE.
THOUGHT: JEHOVAH EL KHAYYIM – is LORD, THE LIVING GOD and the GOD OF YOUR LIFE. Moses and the leaders of the people of Israel knew the voice of THE LIVING GOD because He spoke to them out of the fire (Deuteronomy 5:24-26). Joshua charged the people that they should know that THE LIVING GOD was among them because of all that He had done and was doing on their behalf (Joshua 3:10). Speaking of the giant Goliath, the shepherd boy, David famously said: “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies ofTHE LIVING GOD?” (1 Samuel 17:26). Later in life, David also wrote this prayer: “My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for THE LIVING GOD.” (Psalm 84:2).
Are you aware of the presence of God in your life. He is THE LIVING GOD and He is very concerned with your life and about the things and people that you care about. I encourage you to grow to know Him just as David and others did, so that He will not only be THE LIVING GOD, but so that you too will call Him the GOD OF YOUR LIFE.
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, JEHOVAH EL KHAYYIM,LORD, THE LIVING GOD and the GOD OF MY LIFE: Thank You that You are concerned about what I am concerned about. There are many things that claim my attention in life, including job, family, finances and concern about the crime and political environment. With so much going wrong in the world my only hope is that You are LORD, THE LIVING GOD and I desire for You to be the GOD OF MY LIFE. LORD, I surrender my hopes and ambitions, my plans and purposes to You. Forgive my mis-steps, heal my infirmities and create in me a heart to serve You and live for You, THE GOD OF MY LIFE, from today on into eternity. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
