The Role of The Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Transforms You…

SCRIPTURES: 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Romans 15:16b … sanctified by the Holy Ghost. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (See also Romans 8:29; Romans 12:2; 1 Cor 6:11; Ephesians 4:22-24; 2 Thessalonians 2:13).

THOUGHT: The Holy Spirit sanctifies you or sets you apart to transform your character and your life from what it had been in the past to a life that is pleasing unto God. This process is ongoing from day to day and is only possible as you cooperate with Him and allow Him to do His work of purification and cleansing of your life. As you read the Word of God daily, allow yourself also to become planted in a church of believers and commit yourself to following the guidance and direction of Holy Spirit, you will see your life changing from time to time. You will see that you grow more and more in harmony with God, His Spirit and His Word. Old things will pass away and all things will become new.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I surrender my life to You to be transformed. I will listen and be obedient to what You say to me through Your Word and by Your Spirit. Lord, change and transform my life so that I am more and more like You. Plant me in a church of good Bible preaching and serious, loving believers so that I can listen and learn and grow in my knowledge of how to apply the Word to my own life. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

The Role of The Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Calls You To Come…

SCRIPTURES: Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come”. And let him that heareth say, “Come”. And let him that is athirst “come”. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Isaiah 2:5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD. (See also: Isaiah 55:1-3; John 16:7-15).

THOUGHT: You may have felt that you are not good enough to join in the ranks of God’s people or to even deserve what God has to offer. Well, you are right. The Bible says no one is good enough (See Romans 3:10 and Romans 3:23). While no one is good enough to earn fellowship with God, He still calls us into relationship with Him by confessing our sins and accepting the pardon that He offers by the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is the Blood of Jesus Christ that washes away or sins and makes us acceptable to God, not anything that we could do or offer Him. Revelation 22:17 lets us know that all are welcome. It says “Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely”. The Spirit of God calls us to come unto God to receive His forgiveness and love. Today is a good day to come.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I hear the voice of Your Spirit calling me to come. Today I come to You. I thank You for sending Your Son to sacrifice His life for me. Please forgive me of my sins and establish me in Your Kingdom. I realize that Holy Spirit also calls me to come into a deeper relationship, to become more and more like You. This also is my desire. Today, I come and surrender for a deeper relationship and deeper fellowship with You, with Your Son, with Your Spirit and with Your Kingdom here on earth. Father in Heaven, Today, I come. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

The Role of The Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Helps You To Obey…

SCRIPTURES: 1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

THOUGHT: It is only by Holy Spirit that we are able to be obedient to God. Being born into this earth means that we are born into sin. God knew that we desperately need help and provides Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. He also fills us with the power to live right and obey Him, by the Holy Ghost which dwells within and fills us with the Word, will and ways of God. Trying on your own to please God has never worked and has only led to frustration. You need the Holy Spirit’s infilling power to live for God

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I desire to be obedient to You. I know that following You is the only meaningful way to live. Sometimes I struggle with complete obedience. I believe in Jesus as my Savior and I have made a decision to live righteously and godly. So, I ask for the power of Your Spirit living in me to purify my life of all ungodliness. I ask for and by faith I receive another measure of Your life and strength and power to live victoriously for You, In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

The Role of the Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Brings You Freedom…

SCRIPTURES: 2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (or Freedom). Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to… proclaim liberty to the captives…; Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (See also Luke 4:18; Romans 8:15-16 ).

THOUGHT: There are many types of bondage such as chains, bars or locks on doors. However, the greater bondage is mental and spiritual bondage. Some who are behind prison bars have claimed the greatest freedom ever, after accepting Jesus Christ and receiving the indwelling and infilling of Holy Spirit. Yet others walk free but suffer in the bondage of Satan, manifesting in sin and sickness of many types.

If you have been delivered from bondage and now walk in True Freedom, you know it. Likewise, if you are still in bondage you also certainly know it. If you are in bondage, you may not be able to describe it, but you know that you have restrictions of your body, mind and/or spirit. You know that the way you live is not “right” and may not even be what you want to do. Also, the voices you hear are not right and what you do, what you say, and how you treat people is not right. You have been looking for “the answer”. Jesus is ready to forgive and free you from bondage today. Accept Him! Receive forgiveness! Ask for His Spirit to live in you to break the chains of all bondage and give you freedom, True Freedom, so that you know it, deep down in your heart and soul.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, truthfully speaking, I am in bondage. I need Your help and deliverance. I realize that I cannot free myself. I need the bondage-breaking power of Your Holy Spirit to give me freedom in my daily life, my thoughts, attitudes and my behavior. Lord Jesus, Please forgive me of my sins, cleanse me from all unrighteousness, heal me of all disease, physical, mental and/or spiritual, and deliver me from all of the bondage(s) in my life. I cannot do it alone. I desperately need Your help. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

The Role of Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Brings You True Joy…

SCRIPTURE: Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

1 Thessalonians 1:5-6 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: Acts 5:41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. (See also Acts 9:31; Acts 13:52; Romans 5:3-5; Romans 8:16-18; Galatians 5:22; Hebrews 10:34; I Peter 1:6 & 8).

THOUGHT: Everyone desires happiness in life. But happiness is based on what “happens”.  True joy lives inside of you no matter what happens. You will notice from the context of some of the Scriptures referenced above, that you as an individual may experience times of trial, trouble, testing, or even outright opposition and persecution. Yet, God promises the joy of Holy Spirit deep down inside of you, even to the point of feeling blessed to suffer for the name of Christ.

The promise of this kind of joy truly is for you, when you make a complete commitment of your life to God and Jesus Christ, and receive the filling of Holy Spirit in you. Holy Spirit brings the joy with Him when He takes up residence in your life. (See also: Galatians 5:22)

PRAYER: Lord, fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I can truly know joy deep down in my soul. I believe in Jesus as my Savior, and I give my life to Jesus in complete commitment. Now fill me with Your Holy Spirit to empower me to know the real joy that You promise to me despite the circumstances I am in. I receive a greater measure of Your Holy Spirit today, In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!!!

The Role of Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Bears Witness to the Truth and Shows You Things To Come…

SCRIPTURE: John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…”: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. Romans 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost. (See also Romans 8:16; 1 John 3:19-21; 1 Peter 1:11)

THOUGHT: Jesus says that roles of Holy Spirit include to guide you to truth and to shew you truth regarding things that are to come. A great truth is the Second Coming Of Christ, which is soon to come with eternal judgments and punishments to follow. Holy Spirit impresses those truths upon you and urges you to prepare for His return and for your eternal destiny by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and living for Him day by day. And still there are many more truths and future events concerning your life that Holy Spirit is willing to share with you. Commit your life to Him, receive the indwelling and infilling of His Spirit and watch Him work in your life to lead you to all truth.

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord for the gift of Holy Spirit, who leads and guides me into truth and shows me things to come. I will watch for the presence of Holy Spirit in my life and I will listen to hear what You have to say through Him. Help me Lord, to keep my heart pure and my hands clean so that I will not fail to be attentive to Your Spirit and Your Word. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN!

The Role of Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Strengthens You…

Ephesians 3:14-16 (14) For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, (15) Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, (16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; Psalm 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

THOUGHT: Do you feel as though you need more strength to get through each day? God promised to strengthen us internally to withstand anything and everything we may encounter during each day. By accepting and receiving His Spirit, you have His power residing within you. The word “might”, in its original context, means special power and ability to achieve and accomplish what you have to do. So this means not only to just get through your day, but to accomplish your day victoriously. (See also: Isaiah 40:29-31; Isaiah 41:10; Zechariah 10:12; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Philippians 4:13; Colossians 1:9-11)

PRAYER: Lord, I need more strength! I need the power of Your Spirit on the inside of me to power me through my days so that I may accomplish them victoriously. I receive another measure of Your Spirit so that I may live victoriously, accomplishing my responsibilities as You intended. I receive this power of Holy Spirit by faith. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

The Role of Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Fills You…

Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

THOUGHT: Jesus said that they should wait for the promise of the Father, which was to fill them with His Holy Spirit. Just like the disciples, you receive the Spirit’s Indwelling the moment you accept Jesus Christ as Savior. You receive the Spirit’s Infilling when you are obedient and when you ask for Him (See Acts 5:32 & Luke 11:13). The infilling gives you power to live a Godly life and power to open your mouth to tell others what Christ has done for you.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I sincerely believe in You, and in Your saving power. Please forgive me of my sins. I accept Your gift of Salvation. However, my life is up and down and right now and I do not represent You as I should. I need this Infilling of Your Spirit to give me the power to live a Godly life every day. I also need Your power to witness, in speaking clearly and boldly about what You have done for me. Because Your Word says this gift is for me, I receive it today, by faith, as I pray this prayer. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

The Role of the Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Calls You…

Acts 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

THOUGHT: The Bible teaches us that God calls us and gives us gifts and talents accordingly as He wills. There are gifts of the Father, gifts of the Son, Jesus Christ and gifts of Holy Spirit. We are given gifts and then called to certain roles and responsibilities. Some seek recognition, titles and activities in larger public roles and calls when they have not practised faithfulness to the first call of God, which is the call to submission, surrender, confession, prayer and faithfulness to Him and to those He has placed you with.

The first call is to allow God to sanctify and mature you as a disciple and follower so that you are prepared to properly represent Him in any and every situation He calls you to encounter. Practicing love, forgiveness, humility and serving those in your midst is the preparation ground for further calls to extend your ministry to new and greater realms. God calls us by His Spirit, and we must sit down and count the cost and make appropriate preparations for the next steps.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive Your call, first to commit my ways to you and to allow Holy Spirit to bring my life into conformity to Your will. After my response is pleasing to You, I will also respond to His guidance to do whatever else You call me to do. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

The Role of the Holy Spirit In Your Life – He Comforts You…

Acts 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

THOUGHT: You may be going through a difficulty right now or may have sometime in the past. Sometimes it is difficult to get past what has happened. Sometimes it seems there is no one there to comfort your hurts. You may be dealing with a range of emotions, such as hurt, shame, fear, anger, feeling unloved, unforgiveness and much more.

People are not always understanding, empathetic, loving or forgiving. But God cares for you and reaches out, not to condemn you, but to comfort you in your affliction and to bring you to a place of peace. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace. See Jeremiah 29:11. Reach back to Him from the depths of your heart and by your spirit. Reach out to His Spirit who longs to comfort you this very day and this very hour. Now is the time to put the past to rest and to walk in the mercy, forgiveness, peace, love and joy of the Lord. All of these are gifts He gives freely to you by His Spirit. See more of the Gifts at Galatians 5:22-23

PRAYER: Lord God, Heavenly Father, my heart still hurts after this long time. No one seems to have patience or to understand or care. I have heard that You care for me and have forgiven me already so that all I need to do is to accept You and Your forgiveness today. Today, I accept Your Love, Your Mercy and Your Forgiveness. Please forgive my attitudes and behaviors of the past. I desire to know Your peace, joy, rest and comfort in my life. Please comfort me, O Lord!

Lead me into the path of those of Your followers who are really experiencing Your joy and are able to share it with me. I now realize that I cannot do anything to become more worthy of Your love and nothing I have done makes You love me any less. I receive Your love and blessing and realize that it was always there waiting for me to receive.

Lord God, as You have forgiven me, I too forgive that person and those persons who have hurt me or shamed me in any way. Teach me Your ways! Show me the path that I must take! Give me the strength to face each new day as I live in this new way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
