SCRIPTURES: Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and THE ANCIENT OF DAYS did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to THE ANCIENT OF DAYS, and they brought him near before him. Daniel 7:22 Until THE ANCIENT OF DAYS came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
THOUGHT: The only references in the Bible to THE ANCIENT OF DAYS appear in Daniel 7 as documented above. However there are many references to God existing before time began as in Isaiah 43:13 “…before the day was I AM He…”. Daniel’s references come in the context of a dream of heaven where He sees various beasts representing kingdoms arising and destroying one another and then he sees God, THE ANCIENT OF DAYS, sitting on a throne as all other powers are destroyed (Daniel 7:9 & Daniel 7:26). In Daniel’s visions, the SON OF MAN comes to THE ANCIENT OF DAYS (verse 13) and despite severe persecution against those who serve God, THE ANCIENT OF DAYS gives them the victory (Daniel 7:22-27). What this means to you is that no matter what you are going through in life, and no matter how difficult things seem right now, you need to remember that God, THE ANCIENT OF DAYS, is still on the throne and in the end, if you are faithful, you will be given the victory forever.
Daniel 7:27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, THE ANCIENT OF DAYS: You have long ruled and reigned on Your throne of righteousness and You will continue through time and into eternity. Earthly kingdoms have risen up in rebellion against Your throne and against Your authority. However, there are a people who commit to faithfulness to Your kingdom purposes and plans. We surrender ourselves to Your ANCIENT WISDOM and desire for You to lead and guide us into all righteousness. I ask that You fill me with a greater measure of Your Spirit, so that I will withstand the internal and external struggles of Kingdom citizenship, while living in this earthly place. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
