EL QANNA: THE LORD WHO IS JEALOUS FOR YOU (Part 1)

SCRIPTURES: Psalm 23:5b Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Exodus 20:5 “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God…” Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is JEALOUS, is a jealous God:

THOUGHT: Psalm 23:5 mentions the anointing of the head with oil and the cup running over. The Anointing is akin to being singled out and chosen as the Cup Running Over relates to the outpouring of the abundance upon one whom the Lord chooses and approves. EL QANNA -THE LORD IS JEALOUS FOR YOU. The Passion of Jesus Christ is HIS JEALOUSY for the Salvation and Deliverance of His children. Nothing about God’s Jealousy is negative or from evil or immature motive. He is not like the school boy, upset that his supposed girlfriend is talking with another. He is as a wise, loving father, learning that an older man, with a reputation as a predator, is seducing his innocent, young child. Surely his anger and zeal for the welfare of the child will be aroused to deal with that man. Notice this verse: 2 Thessalonians 1:6 “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you“
The Word EL is short for ELOHIM which means Supreme Might and Power. QANNA translates as jealous, envy or zealous. So the LORD of Supreme Might and Power is your Father and He is Zealous for what is best for you, for your earthly safety and for your Eternal Salvation. EL QANNA also describes the character of the LORD as one who will not tolerate the worship of false gods and who will bring judgment upon those who refuse to repent.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, MY SUPREME RULER: You are the God of the earth, the heavens and the entire universe. You truly are the LORD of SUPREME POWER and MIGHT. You are also The LORD who is JEALOUS for me. I thank You for Your jealous and zealous love for me. Knowing of Your care and concern for me makes me stop to thank You and dedicate my life to Your service. Lead me and guide me that I may follow the paths where Your wisdom lead me. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
