The Role of The Holy Spirit in Your Life – He Sanctifies or Cleanses You…

SCRIPTURES: Romans 15:16  That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. 1 Peter 1:2 “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ…”: (See also 2 Thessalonians 2:13).

THOUGHT: In the Old Testament, the priests and the people  sanctified or prepared themselves for worshipping the one and only Holy God by various washing and cleansing practices. In the New Testament you are sanctified by Holy Spirit – see above verses, by the Blood of Jesus, Hebrews 13:12 & Hebrews 10:29, by the Word of God, Ephesians 5:26 & John 17:17, and by your purposeful putting off of unrighteous attitudes and actions, while putting on the ways of God. 2 Timothy 2:21, 2 Corinthians 7:1, Ephesians 4:22-32, Colossians 3:8-17.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, knowing that You are a Holy God, I cannot approach Your presence unless I am cleansed. Knowing that You have provided cleansing for me by the Blood of Jesus, by the Word of God, and by Holy Spirit, I clearly see my part in taking advantage of all that You have provided, putting off unrighteousness from my life and putting on Your righteous mind and ways. (See again Ephesians 4:22-32; Colossians 3:8-17).  I thank You for all the help You have provided and I commit my life to pleasing You. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

About Pastor Lawrence A. Fox

We believe that along with many others, we are called by Jesus Christ to engage in a world-wide effort to reach those in and out of the Christian world with the message of full salvation and healing in His name. This effort starts in our own hearts through the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It then finds growth and nourishment in the fellowship of the local church and fans out through every believer’s home, in our neighborhoods, with our relatives, in the workplace and in every human interaction that we engage in on this side of eternity. We are excited to be ambassadors for God in bringing His message to a lost and dying world. II Corinthians 5:18-20 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
